Gwent Under 18 boys secured a formidable victory away to Somerset at Weston-super-Mare Golf Club on Sunday 15^th September.

Gwent boys won the foursomes by 4 games to 1 and continued to play well in the afternoon to take the singles by 6½ games to 3½ and the match by 10½ points to 4½.

This match now concludes Gwent’s Under 18 Channel League season and gives them a played 4 and won 3 record, losing out to Gloucestershire as their only defeat.

Gwent U18’s will be losing 5 of their team for next season. They are: Dan Bearcroft, Logan Westley, Cameron Powell, Dafydd Rowberry, and Joseph Hill.

Also attached is the result of the Wessex League match against Somerset which was played at the Isle of Wedmore on Sunday 8^th Sept.

Both teams only managed a single point in their foursomes games going in to lunch being 4-1 and 3-1 down respectively.

The Channel League team managed to halve the afternoon singles 5 points apiece and lost their match 9-6.

The Wessex League team lost their singles by 5 games to 3 and lost the match 8-4.

There are 5 Gwent clubs competing in the Junior Inter Club Championship on Sunday 22^nd September 2019 at Pontypool Golf Club.

They are : Greenmeadow, Llanwern, Newport, Parc, and St. Pierre.

Wiltshire v Gwent Channel League match played on Sunday 1^st September at Cumberwell Park.

Gwent Handicap Team Championships for 2019 which was played at Monmouth Golf Club on Sunday 1^st September 2019

1^st Place:      MONMOUTH GOLF CLUB             140 Points

2^nd Place:     St. PIERRE GOLF CLUB                  134 Points

3^rd Place      BRYN MEADOWS GOLF CLUB     128 Points

The semi-final and final of the Gwent Matchplay Championship was played at the Rolls of Monmouth on Sunday 25th Aug 2019.

The first semi final between Richard Tayler and Theo Baker was a close match with Richard taking an early 3 hole lead but Theo faught back to all square before winning on the 19th hole.

The second semi final between Dafydd  Rowberry and Ieuan Philips was a very tight match which was all square as they approached the last two holes and it looked a possibility of them having to play extra holes, Dafydd Rowberry then produced two birdies on the last two holes, winning the match 2 Up.

The final was contested by Theo Baker and Dafydd Rowberry and again a very close match in very hot conditions, the match was won on the 19th hole by Dafydd Rowberry the Gwent Matchplay Champion for 2019.

Gwent U18 team secured a closely fought win against Wiltshire U18’s in their Junior Channel League match played at St. Pierre on Tuesday 27^th August.

The morning foursomes ended All Square at 2½ points apiece.

The afternoon singles produced some extraordinary high scoring game results with Gwent just edging it by 5½ points to 4½, winning the match by 8 points to 7.

Gwent v Devon Seniors Channel League match which was played at Monmouthshire Golf Club on Wednesday 21^st August 2019.

The morning foursomes was a close affair with two of the games ending A/S with Devon leading by 3 games to 2.

The afternoon singles got off to a good start with Gwent taking 3 of the first 4 games but unfortunately this could not be sustained and Devon took the singles by 5½ points to 4½ giving Devon a match win by 8½ points to  6½ points.
